Red Things
(Submission for Poetry Thursday)

My face when I say-do embarassing things.
Is it red, or is it my projection?
That tail light is definitely red.
I feel that in my face too.
When it shines suddenly.
I painted our living room red once. Everyone loved it.
No one wanted it in their house.
Red. Bold as a bitch.
Hot as volcano vomit,
As a poets anger.
It takes red to start a universe;
Big Bang red.
Bam! Existence exists.
Billions of years and we
wallow in red mud, our cooling.
This time, not knowing
if the sun that birthed our center
can resist gods breath,
the red light of life
extinct.

Ron,
Neat, some bold and powerful images here. But then Red is a bold and powerful color>
“I painted our living room red once. Everyone loved it.
No one wanted it in their house.”
I can relate: everybody likes it, nobody wants it.

Thanks rel
I still can’t get my link posted on Poetry Thursday. It worked last week. Not sure what happened.
Thanks again for stopping by.

Update.
I figured it out. I was sending an email when all I had to do was leave a comment with the permalink. Duh! I think I got confused with the Haiku page, where you do send the link by email.
Interesting that we both mentioned volcanos in our Red poems. We are on the same wavelength. Cool. I liked how you took red all the way back to the beginning of time and then hinted at the end of all life, too.
I love the stanza about the Big Bang.
(Several people had problems with their links in their comments on Poetry Thursday this week. )
Thanks, I like the big bang too. Got something for next Thursday yet? Me neither.
