Elixir
Poetry Thursdays random prompt prompted this:
Elixir of life
promise of eternity
marrow of false hopes
(elixir of life – a hypothetical substance believed to maintain life indefinitely; once sought by alchemists)
Uncategorized

The random prompt prompted… I love it! You know, I’d forgotten about the Elixir. It makes such a great metaphor. “marrow of false hopes” is a great phrase. Wow.
Thank you Christine. I do love using prompts, though I don’t always need them, thankfully. But then again most writing comes from ‘prompts’ of some sort…some source…muse or whatever. The muse in me grabbed onto those two words when I saw them over at PT and ‘the rest is history’ as they say. Thanks again.
