Do not expect the finite to be anything other than what it is.
This is the key to discovering your own innate freedom,
and your intimacy with the Infinite.
The finite world is steeped in tender, poignant beauty –
precisely because it is finite.
The Infinite is radiant with beauty –
precisely because it transcends the finite.
Intriguing post, and quite an interesting exercise, to imagine the differences between in/finite beauty. I read somewhere once that there are other, higher dimensions that have colors that we don’t have here in the 4th. That’s another idea I like to play with at times: how to envision what those colors are, what they might look like.
I gues you can tell I love these kind of mental exersises, especially in the spirituality/philosophy realm. When I first heard the phrase (in studying Zen) “the radiant emptyness” I struggled to grasp how that which is ‘empty’ can have a ‘radiance’ or ‘beauty’. Sounds like a good koan to work on.
