A Sorry Lot
If people are good only because they fear punishment,
and hope for reward,
then we are a sorry lot indeed.
Einstein

War can only be understood and put an end to if you and all those who are concerned very deeply with the survival of man, feel that you are utterly responsible for killing others.
What will make you change?
J. Krishnamurti..

Meditate on this one for a while….
“I gave way to delight, as mystics have for centuries when they peeked through the curtains and discovered that this world, so manifestly real, was actually a tiny stage set constructed by the mind. We discover abruptly that everything we accept as reality is just social fabrications”
Timothy Leary, 1966…

– Lao Tzu
“It matters not Who you love, Where you love, Why you love, When you love, Or how you love, It matters only that you love.”

To comprehend and to understand God
above all similitudes,
as He is in Himself,
is to be God with God,
without intermediary,
and without any otherness
that can become a hindrance
or an intermediary.
Whosoever wishes to understand this must have died to himself, and must live in God, and must turn his gaze to the eternal light in the ground of [...]

Do you recognize the timeless
One who is aware of all this?
If so please tell me
Who and what you are
When you are deeper than
within.
Clouds pass by.
Feelings pass by.
Thoughts pass by.
What in you does not pass by?
Do you see that One?
Can you say its Name?

Little engineers we were
Designing road systems in the dirt.
Cars and trucks race around
In our make believe adventure until Big Foot
Comes to destroy our creations
In the dirt with their feet, but we persevere
And rebuild the roads
Changing directions so we could crash
Into each other, but no one
Ever got hurt….usually, just bruised feelings
When we argued
And called each other [...]

She walks toward me with quick steps
seemingly self-assured.
I look at her, (gaze, stare actually),
her self, her being, her presence,
her sexuality and sheer femaleness
which suddenly shapes me, names me
when I allow it, permit a response
from the shadows, from the path
to the side, (the outside),
the other one, not me.
The center knows. Inside
where stars dwell.
Each one calling my [...]

I want to begin this episode with a poem I wrote back in 1993 that encapsulates this experience. The following story elaborates in detail what this poem only alludes to in its own way. Here’s the poem first:
The Arches
That day we floated
down the [...]

Little Engineers
At the apartment at 157 Crescent Place where we lived as a young family the area just outside our entrance was a porch made of concrete and cinder block with two or three stairs leading down to the driveway and parking area. It was not paved in the early 50’s and thus made for [...]

Chapter 2
To follow up on chapter one, it was about that time of my experience just prior to and following the removal of that birthmark that we began to visit the beach area of Milford, Connecticut where we rented a house on the beach. Interestingly the owners of the house continued to live in the [...]

I awoke at 3:55 am and was immediately annoyed at that fact since I somehow knew that I would not return to sleep soon enough for my required six hours to be fulfilled. Oh well. Nothing I can do about that. So I practiced focusing on my breathing (as in meditation) to keep from getting [...]
