The CEO of AT&T said: "The internet can't be free". I don't know the context in which the comment was made but on the face of it, it's just a little scary coming from one who wants to profit from it in ways that would take control of the whole structure of what makes the internet the wonderfully egalitarian communal venue that it is and make it into something that would create another internet caste system where those who can pay the most get priority access and who knows what happens to the rest of us.

A key House committee already voted against Internet freedom. See if your representative is on this committee.
